My name is James E. Burnett and my wife's name is Joan.  We now live in deep south Texas about 8 miles from the Mexican border.  We are originally from Michigan and lived in East Detroit (now East Point), Roseville and finally in Ludington.  My past include many things such as having a pilot's license before I could legally drive a car. Joined the Navy and went to submarine school then on to the fire/crash crew in Florida.  Received a BA degree from the Detroit Institute of Technology and a M.Ed from Wayne State Univesity.  I was an elementary teacher for many years and then became an elementary principal when we moved to Ludington.  We retired from Ludington in 1984 and started traveling in a small class C motor home.  We ended up, over the years, having three more motor homes.  We now have a 34' Bounder with a gas engine.  We have been camping in 49 states.  Couldn't drive to Hawaii.  I'm also an Amateur radio Operator, N8EYS.   Also in my past, I wrote articles in local and national magazines and had weekly columns in two different newspapers at two different times.  I'm almost 81 and looking forward to writing a few hubs that might be of some interest to other people.
